Who We Are

We’re a Chicago-based Technology Solutions company - that specializes in creating high quality Native Mobile Apps, Responsive Websites, Web Apps, Software, APIs, Frameworks, SDKs (software development kits for apps), etc. We’ve been creating solutions for 20+ years and in that time we’ve amassed a heck of a lot of technology, expertise, best practices, etc.

Our current digital IP Portfolio is worth about $5M+. IP = Intellectual Property. That means all the stuff we make that’s unique that can be used to create mobile apps, websites, etc. How do we know it’s worth $5M+? Good question. Here’s that answer »

Yes, we’ve tried the VC-route and it wasted more valuable time than it helped. And, since we’re typically 2-5 years ahead of everybody, which has secured us some very big partnerships, we figured it was about time we tried a different approach.

Our Approach

First and foremost, we’re almost like an extinct species. We make “Native” Mobile Apps, whereas SO much of the tech industry centers around “Hybrid” Cross-Platforms.

ThinΛpp is built on a simplified MVC framework in PHP with a responsive, 12-grid HTML Bootstrap for the front-end - and MySQL for the back-end database. Note: There are of course also some HTML5, Javascript and Ajax elements too. This makes it the most fluid combination of languages and architecture imaginable.

What is ThinΛpp BΛSE?

ThinΛpp BΛSE is a pre-built Hybrid App platform that makes it easy and affordable to create a custom mobile App - for any business, passion, interest, website or idea.

What is a Hybrid App?

A Hybrid App (also referred to as an HTML5 App, Progressive Web App, Web App and Browser-based App) is one that is both web based (ie. a Web App built in the same coding languages that are used to create highly responsive and mobile-friendly websites) and “native” based (ie. built in coding languages like Apple’s X-Code/Swift or Google’s Android Studio, which were designed to exclusively build mobile applications for those respective devices).

A Web App (which makes up most of a Hybrid App) is an app that looks and feels just like any “Mobile” App that you would download from the App Stores, except you don’t actually get/download them from the App Stores - instead you can add them (or rather their App Icon) to your device’s home screen - and then access it via its App Icon to use the App version.

ThinΛpp BΛSE is 85% Web App + 15% Native App = Hybrid App

BΛSE is coded/built with the most popular web based languages and latest internet standards. This makes it more flexible, more affordable, faster to develop and more accessible than traditional “native” based Apps while still having the same look, feel and functionality of a Native App. And, yes, Apps made with BΛSE can also be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play (with the help of our ThinΛpp AppWrapr).

Mobile Websites vs Web Apps

As you can see above, the most noticeable difference (at first glance) between a typical Mobile Website and a Web App is that Web Apps are fullscreen (just like Native Apps). Note: You don’t have to download Web Apps - you “install” them (see the section on App Icons below for more on that).

What makes ThinΛpp BΛSE so unique is that while the giants like Apple and Google battle for App dominance, we’ve made a product that is not platform/device specific - and works on everything - and is way more affordable, easy to make - and easier to understand. Google’s announcement simply proves that there is an increasing interest in creating Apps that do not need to be downloaded. However, ThinΛpp does have an App Wrapper version, which allows it to be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.

App Icons

The next thing we wanted to tackle was making it easy to access a Web App.

Most people don’t even know Web Apps have their own App Icons, just like Native Apps. In fact, once it’s on your phone’s homescreen there’s no way to even tell the difference.

ThinΛpp Products

ThinΛpp is comprised of several different powerful technology solutions, which you can purchase seperately or as a combined solution.

1. ThinΛpp Platform - The Web App is our flagship solution/product (and is also a fully responsive website).

2. ThinΛpp Native Wrapper - This is a Native App (coded in the original App programming languages) that allows us to “wrap” any website or the ThinΛpp Platform and make it available for download from the App Stores.*

3. ThinΛpp Offline Platform - We’ve figured out how to make Web Apps and Native Apps that function completely offline (ie. without an internet connection).

4. ThinΛpp Hybrid App - this is (1 + 2 above) or (1 + 2 + 3 above) combined. 1 + 2 is our most popular solution/product.

ThinΛpp Turn-Around Time

Typically Apple takes about 5 business days to review and approve each submitted App, however this is assuming you did everything 100% correct. They absolutely have the right to reject your App and will tell you why, at which time it becomes up to you (or us) to fix it and re-submit it. This process can drag our for literal weeks and even months if you don’t know what you’re doing.

We have it down to a science. We handle it all for you. We ask you some questions (that are currently being programmed into an easy online/mobile form) and we take care of the rest. And Apple knows who submits correct stuff - and they’ll typically reward those App Developers with quick review times and approvals.

So ready for proof? On Monday July 25th, 2016 we submitted an App for a client and the very next morning on Tuesday July 26 it was reviewed, approved and live on the App Store.
